Breaking: Syrian Army seizes the crucial Al-Nuba Mountains

The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard has struck again in the Latakia Governorate’s northeastern countryside after they imposed full control over a strategic mountaintop that was previously controlled by the Islamist rebels of Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) up until this morning.

Accoridng to a military source that is embedded in the Kurdish Mountains (Jabal Al-Akrad) of northeastern Latakia, the Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade – in coordination with the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP), and the National Defense Forces (NDF) of Qurdaha – seized the strategic mountaintop of Jabal Al-Nuba after a series of intense firefights with the Free Syrian Army and Jabhat Al-Nusra.

The Al-Nuba Mountains are strategically located between the Turkmen and Kurdish Mountains; this site is situated just a few kilometers southwest of Salma.
