This morning at 6:30 AM, near the Italian consulate in Cairo , Egypt , a bomb planted under a car was detonated . The explosion , according to reports by the local security bodies , caused at least one death ( maybe a cop ) and some wounded , but they don't have precise informations about the number of wounded or the involvement of Italians in the accident . The bomb was detonated (probably remotely) when the consulate was still closed , destroying part of the facade of Al- Galaa Street , in the heart of the city . Egyptian security sources claim that the explosion had damaged, in addition to the external façade of the Italian Consulate, also some houses near by the Consulate. Al-Galaa Street and the bridge near the building were closed.
